Raw DNS output is compact but not always friendly. DNS Look keeps the underlying fields—record type, name, TTL, value, and priority—while adding context about what a result means and what to check next.
The project focuses on public, read-only diagnostics. It does not change domain settings, scan private infrastructure, or claim that a single automated score can prove a domain is secure.
Independent data sources
DNS answers come from validating public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers. Registration data comes from the authoritative RDAP service selected through IANA’s bootstrap directory. The methodology page documents the lookup path and limitations in more detail.
Principles
- No account is required for a lookup.
- Results should remain readable without hiding technical details.
- Warnings should explain context instead of creating unnecessary alarm.
- Educational copy should be accurate, specific, and useful during a real configuration change.
